Sarah Rose (she/her)

I have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to write toplines over the tracks created by Andrew Potterton (MT Electronic Curator)

Sarah Rose is a native of the UK’s South Coast and cut her teeth playing the acoustic set in London. Her influences draw on classic singer/songwriters including Kate Bush and Sara Bareilles through to pop & electronic artist/writers Imogen Heap and Sia. Sarah’s live performance combines her classic songwriting, pop sensibility and heartfelt vocals.

On the recorded side Sarah has enjoyed a string of releases which have received support from radio stations including Country Radio UK, Nashville Sessions York, Amazing Radio, Voice FM and BBC Radio Solent. Her 2022 single, ‘How To Love a Girl’ was recorded in Nashville and described as ‘a solid track from a qualified artist’ by Phantom Power Music. It was crowned a winning song in the 2022 Intercontinental Music Awards and has received In-Store sync placements with Caffe Nero and the Guinness Experience in Dublin.

In terms of her songwriting, Sarah has enjoyed Top Ten success penning songs for Angel City on Ministry of Sound and she has co-written songs which have been released on labels including Hed Kandi, Sony/Direction and Warner Music Norway (October 22) – this release was playlisted on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday Norway’.

Outside of her life as a composer, Sarah loves to spend time with her two kids (Amelie and Eddie) - especially going for family walks with her little dog Marley in the Hampshire countryside. She also enjoys yoga and finds it very inspiring.

Dream commission:

Sarah’s dream would be to compose songs to feature in 'coming of age' type films - about growing up / family / loss / first love / heartbreak etc. - an old example of a film in this genre is Garden State – she fell in love with the film and the soundtrack at the time.

Instruments:

Vocals (live), midi - piano, guitar, drums, synths
