I have been won over by their kind and welcoming nature and I have great expectations that this relationship will be fruitful.

James first became aware of music at a young age in the North of England, where he was invited to play in a local brass band.

This became a passion over the years, which led him to study music at Keele University (Sydney) and Chichester University, developing his passion for writing music for media. James’ first taste of writing music to a moving image was for a local media company, who wanted to incorporate the local sounds of the brass band into a film. In the past few years, James has overcome the demanding challenges of entering media composition and found a love for creating production music in between scoring films and concert music commissions.

Production music allows him the flexibility to create sounds that evoke a specific style and having the freedom to develop that style over a whole album. It also gives James the opportunity to meet many like-minded people in the sync licensing business, and to collaborate with other composers.

Most of James’ time is taken up with music, but when he has a spare minute, you can find James playing chess or cooking a culinary masterpiece!
