I'm excited to work with MT - they are making a real effort to diversify by getting more representation for different sectors of society. As a female composer, I work predominantly with men and it is really refreshing to find a company with a strong female presence.

Charlie Savigar is a Brighton-based media composer, songwriter, and pianist known for her captivating compositions featured on prominent platforms like BBC, CBeebies, and ITV. With a passion for creating upbeat and playful music, Charlie specializes in the children's TV genre, combining a wide range of instruments such as guitar, ukulele, charango, and vocals to craft quirky and lively melodies.

Her musical journey began at a young age, starting with the piano at 7 and subsequently mastering the violin and drumkit/percussion. Charlie's love for music led her to study at City University in London, where she obtained a Music (BMus hons.) degree and honed her piano skills under the guidance of renowned musician John York at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Charlie's musical endeavours extended beyond her formal education. For over a decade, she fronted her own country-rock band, touring extensively across the UK, Europe, Nashville, and Santiago de Chile. This experience, coupled with her time as part of the acoustic duo Dare to be Charlie, enriched her musical palette and performance skills.

Driven by her curiosity and creativity, Charlie ventured into production music, becoming a member of TAXI Music and gaining valuable experience submitting music to various briefs. This led her to explore UK-based libraries, building a strong network of contacts and establishing herself as a respected composer in the industry.

Joining forces with MediaTracks was a natural fit for Charlie, as a contact introduced her to the company. She was immediately drawn to MediaTracks' commitment to diversity and the strong female presence within the company. Additionally, she appreciated the opportunity for composers to create short videos describing their albums, showcasing their unique styles and personalities.

Outside of her music career, Charlie finds joy in pursuing other interests and hobbies. She is an avid runner, participating in road and trail running events. Engaging in sports like netball and tennis keeps her active and energized. Charlie also values quality time with her family, including her husband and two young boys, and cherishes moments spent with friends in nature.
