Cymru On Screen: Bringing Wales' Screen & Music Industries Together

Cymru on Screen
Cymru on Screen
Wales has never been more visible on screen.
From major international dramas and feature films to world-class television, games and digital content, Welsh creative talent is making an impact across the globe. Alongside this growth has come an incredible community of editors, producers, composers, post-production facilities, broadcasters and independent creatives who are helping shape the future of the industry.
Yet despite that success, many of the people working across these sectors rarely have the opportunity to meet one another.
That's why we're launching Cymru On Screen.
On Thursday 24 September, MediaTracks is delighted to be partnering with British Film Editors (BFE) and Gorilla to host an evening dedicated to bringing together Wales' screen and music communities under one roof.
This isn't a conference. It isn't a sales event.
It's about building relationships.
Why Wales?
For many years, London has naturally been the centre of networking within the UK screen industries. But Wales has developed its own thriving creative ecosystem, with production companies, post-production houses, broadcasters, freelancers and composers producing work that is recognised around the world.
As more productions choose Wales as both a filming location and creative base, the opportunities for collaboration continue to grow.
We believe those opportunities grow even faster when people meet face to face.
Music is Part of the Story
Music is often one of the last elements added to a production, yet it plays one of the biggest roles in shaping emotion, pace and storytelling.
Whether it's an editor searching for the perfect cue, a producer looking for a trusted music partner, or a composer hoping to understand what productions really need, those conversations are invaluable.
At MediaTracks, we've spent more than 30 years helping connect music with picture, and Cymru On Screen is another opportunity to strengthen those connections within Wales.
Celebrating Welsh Creative Talent
The evening will showcase the incredible breadth of talent working across the Welsh creative industries.
Guests can expect an informal evening of networking, conversations and collaboration alongside live background music performed by one of MediaTracks' Welsh-speaking singer-songwriters.
It's also an opportunity to meet professionals from across:
- Film
- Television
- Post-production
- Editing
- Music supervision
- Production music
- Audio
- Creative technology
Whether you're an established professional or just beginning your career, everyone has something to contribute to the conversation.
Building a Stronger Creative Community
The best opportunities often begin with a simple introduction.
A conversation over a drink becomes a future collaboration.
An editor discovers a new composer.
A producer meets a new supplier.
A freelancer finds their next project.
These are the connections that help creative industries flourish.
As an independent production music company, MediaTracks has always believed that our role extends beyond simply licensing music. We want to support education, champion emerging talent, encourage collaboration and help strengthen the wider creative community.
Cymru On Screen is another step towards that goal.
